Have you ever sat down in front of your computer and started surfing around wondering what you should be doing to get new customers to grow your health and wellness business? Do you know if you should be posting on Instagram or Facebook today? And what about your blog… is it time to write a new post or is it too soon?
These are things you should KNOW if you want to run a successful online wellness business.
But the real question comes down to HOW can you know what to do every day?
As usual, we have answers!
Make a Plan
The first step is to make a plan of action. List out all of the things you need to do for your wellness business. Write down everything from checking email to posting on Instagram. Be as specific as possible and group similar tasks like “social media” and “blogging” together. Determine up front how often you really need to do each task and block out time on your schedule. this will help you manage your time and build consistency in your business.
Measure everything
With an online business, you have the best marketing opportunities in the world. You can track your visitors behavior and you can measure and analyze absolutely everything that happens in your business. With tools like Google Analytics and Facebook Insights, you can see exactly what’s working and what’s not. Pay attention to those and fine-tune what you’re doing to get better results. Use these metrics to keep a pulse on your wellness business so you can take advantage of trends and industry changes quickly.
Change it up
Nothing is set in stone. If you are blogging multiple times a week and you decide that’s too much and want to scale back, then do it. Check your metrics in a month or so and see what impact that has on your business. The key here is not to make random changes here and there. Make deliberate changes and stick with them long enough to measure their impact. You can always revert back to a previous strategy.
Don’t be a robot
Consistency and having a solid strategy are core components of a successful health and wellness business. You need these elements to create confidence in your brand and organic growth. But don’t become a mindless drone, churning out content just because it’s Monday and that’s what’s on your schedule. Shake things up every once in a while and have fun. Surprise your audience with something completely unexpected. Or write a completely off-topic post just to see what your fans have to say about it. You might be surprised yourself at how that turns out.
Phone a friend

In a recent strategy session with a nutrition client, we mapped out an 8 week blogging schedule. Our client walked away with a complete plan that included when to post and what topics were for each week. He now wakes up every day and knows exactly what to do in his wellness business. Do you?
